Where it started — 2019

A prototype that changed everything

Monomer House One was assembled on-site in four days — no welding, no wet works. It proved that a high-quality, architect-designed home could be built from precision-manufactured lightweight parts. That prototype earned recognition at the IDEA Awards and the German Design Award, and set the course for everything that followed.

Proof of concept — 2019–2023

Validated in the field

The Vertex House pilot recorded measurable gains in efficiency and affordability against conventional methods. It also became the testbed for Monomer Building System 1.0 — launched publicly in April 2023 — giving homeowners instant visualisations of adaptable housing plans with real costs attached. For the first time, building a custom home felt knowable.

Guided configurator with real-time cost feedback, auto-generated BIM models, and structural validation built in. Every output is a custom design.

02 — Monomer Mobile

CNC-fabricated components

BIM data converts to CNC fabrication instructions automatically. Components are precision-manufactured, tagged, and delivered ready to install.

03 — Monomer Build

Guided on-site assembly

Auto-generated 3D installation manuals guide site teams through assembly. Less error, faster builds, safer sites.

For most of my career, I’ve watched homeowners spend more than they planned, wait longer than they expected, and receive less than they were promised. The tools to fix this have existed for years — in other industries. Our job was to bring them into construction, and make them accessible to anyone who wants to build well.
